BREXIT impact on British-EU trade relations: brand protection costs could rise by about 25%

The exit of Great Britain from EU will result in major changes for all business in the region. Let’s see what are the implications of this historical change and if British-EU trade relations will be different or not. What laws will regulate intellectual property rights in the UK? For the moment nothing changes. The community laws will continue to apply in the UK until it officially leaves the EU. The EU Trade Mark Regulation (EU) 207/2009 and the Community Designs Regulation (EC) 6/2002, as well as the multiple directives, such as the Trade Marks Directive (EC) 2015/2436 or the IP Enforcement Directive (EC) 2004/48, will have the same effects as before.
