For many years, AHK Romania has had good bilateral relations with its neighbour, the Republic of Moldova, with an official mandate to develop economic relations between Germany and the Republic of Moldova within the framework of promoting German foreign trade and therefore, in 2020, we opened our Competence Centre for Moldova with the aim of making this country more accessible for German-Romanian companies wishing to invest.

Seeing that not only trade relations with Romania, but also with Germany have intensified - turning the German state into Moldova's largest economic partner in the region - AHK Romania has also intensified its activities with and in Moldova. In November 2023 we launched the AHK Romania Platform for doing Business in the Republic of Moldova with the aim provide AHK member companies, active or interested in starting business in Moldova, with regular meetings to share best practices, receive relevant business/economic information and address challenges and shortcomings for doing business in Moldova with relevant public stakeholders. The Platform will have its second meeting on the 9^th of April to discuss Moldova’s economy.
